
GENEWIZ Week Grants 2026 Awards Program Official Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE THE CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
1. SPONSOR
The GENEWIZ Week Awards Program (“Awards Program”) is sponsored by GENEWIZ UK Ltd, Hope End, Takeley, Essex, United Kingdom, CM22 6TA and GENEWIZ GmbH, Bahnhofstr. 86, 04158, Leipzig, Germany. GENEWIZ GmbH shall serve as the Contest administrator and shall coordinate judging, communications, winner selection, and contest administration on behalf of Sponsors.
2. ELIGIBILITY
a. The Awards Program is open only to individuals who are legal residents of the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the European Economic Area (excluding residents of Italy and Spain), who are, at the time of entry, eighteen (18) years or older, or the age of majority in their state or country of residence, whichever is higher, and who are professionally engaged in scientific or research activities. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
b. The following individuals are not eligible to enter to win:

Individuals who were awarded an Award under the Awards Program for the years 2024 or 2025.

Employees, officers, directors, contractors, and agents of a Sponsor and its affiliates, and their immediate family and household members;

Residents of jurisdictions where participation is prohibited;
-
Persons located in Russia, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, the Crimea region of Ukraine, or any jurisdiction subject to comprehensive sanctions;
-
Persons appearing on any denied-party, sanctions, export-control, or restricted-party list maintained by any applicable governmental authority.
c. Institutional Compliance. By entering, each participant represents that participation in the Contest and acceptance of any prize complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and the policies of the participant's employer, institution, governmental agency, university, healthcare organization, or other affiliated organization. Participants are solely responsible for obtaining any required approvals, and Sponsors may require proof of such compliance before awarding a prize.
d. Compliance Right of Sponsors. Sponsors reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to: screen any potential winner against applicable government restricted party and sanctions lists prior to awarding any award; require reasonable certifications from a potential winner confirming eligibility under this Section 2; and disqualify and select an alternate winner if any entrant or potential winner is determined to be ineligible under this Section 2, in each case without liability to the entrant.
3. AWARDS PROGRAM PERIOD
The Awards Program begins on July 17, 2026, at 12:01 a.m. Central European Time (“CET”) and ends on September 30, 2026, at 5:59 p.m. CET (“Awards Program Period”). Sponsor’s timekeeping system is the official timekeeping device for the Awards Program, and Sponsor shall have sole discretion in determining the timeliness of any actions or inactions related to the Awards Program.
4. HOW TO ENTER
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY. A purchase or payment will not increase your chances of winning. ONLINE ENTRY ONLY. No other method of entry will be accepted. Limit one (1) entry per person and per email address during the Awards Promotion Period. Any additional entries submitted will be void.
a. To enter this Award Program, an eligible entrant must visit https://web.genewiz.com/europe/genewiz-week/grants (“Website”) during the Awards Program Period, complete and submit one entry (the “Entry”). Each Entry must include:

Entrant information, including, but not limited to, entrant’s name, email address, name of institution/company (“Institution”), job title, and state or country of residence.

Designation of which category of the Award they seek to enter.
-
Research narrative, written in English, between 100 to 200 words that describes: i) the proposed multiomics and synthesis research project and scientific problem it seeks to address; (ii) an explanation of why the project is practical and feasible, including how GENEWIZ Multiomics & Synthesis Solutions can be applied to the project; and (iii) what is novel of unique about the project and how it advances new ideas or insights.
b. An Entry will be disqualified if it:

Is submitted after the Awards Program Period;
-
Is incomplete;
-
Contains false or misleading information;
-
Infringes any intellectual property rights;
-
Discloses confidential, proprietary, personal, export-controlled, or otherwise restricted information;
-
Fails to comply with applicable laws, regulations, employer policies, institutional policies, or grant restrictions;
-
Contains offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, or unlawful material; or
-
Does not substantially address the Awards Program theme.
Only Entries that satisfy all requirements will be submitted for judging.
5. SELECTION OF WINNERS
The Awards Program is divided into three (4) categories: Gene Synthesis, NGS Unlock Genome, NGS Unlock Cell, and Sanger Sequencing (each a “category”).
a. Judging. All eligible Entries for each Category will be reviews by a panel of qualified judges selected by Sponsor (“Judges”). Sponsor may utilize artificial intelligence and other automated tools to assist in the administration, organization, screening, and preliminary evaluation of Entries against the published judging criteria. Any such tools shall be used solely as an aid to the judging process. Final scoring, ranking, tie-breaking, eligibility determinations, and winner selection shall be reviewed and approved by the Judges, who retain ultimate authority over all Contest results.
Each entry will be evaluated solely on the following criteria, weighted as follows: Feasibility of project (40%), Scientific merit (30%), and Originality (30%). Each criterion will be scored independently.
- Feasibility of project (40%)
Judges will evaluate: the practicality and achievability of the proposed project, the appropriateness of the proposed methodology; likelihood of successful completion of project, and the overall viability of proposed approach. - Scientific merit (30%)
Judges will evaluate the quality of the research rationale; the technical strength of the concept; and the potential contribution to scientific knowledge. - Originality (30%)
The entrant(s) receiving the highest aggregate score(s) will be selected as the winner(s).
b. Tie-Breaking Procedure.

If two or more Entries receive the same total score, the Entry receiving the highest score in the Feasibility of Project will be ranked higher.

If a tie remains, the Entry receiving the higher Scientific Merit score will be ranked higher.
-
If a tie remains, the tied Entries will be re-evaluated by the judging panel using the published judging criteria.
Judges’ decision shall be final and binding in all matters relating to the Awards Program. No random drawing or other game of chance mechanism will be used to select a winner.
6. WINNER NOTIFICATION
a. Each potential winner will be notified by email using the email address provided with their Entry; Sponsor shall have no obligation to send multiple notifications.
b. Potential winner must respond to the notification email within three (3) business days of the notification and must timely complete and return any requested information within two (2) days of the request. Sponsors may require: proof of identity, eligibility confirmation; institutional compliance certification; publicity release, and any additional documentation reasonably required by Sponsor to administer the Awards Program.
c. A potential winner may be disqualified and forfeit the Award if: the notification is returned undeliverable; the potential winner fails to respond within the required time period; the potential winner declines the Award; the potential winner fails to provide requested information; the potential winner is determined to be ineligible; or Sponsor reasonably determines that awarding the Award would violate applicable law, sanctions restrictions, ethics requirements; employer or institutional policies, or these Official Rules.
d. In the event of a forfeiture or disqualification, Sponsor reserves the right to select an alternate winner in accordance with the winner selection process above.
7. AWARD DESCRIPTION
a. Gene Synthesis Grant: First Place: one credit towards a new single-order for GENEWIZ recombinant antibody production, AAV Packaging, Lentivirus packaging, custom mRNA synthesis or gene synthesis services (Gene Synthesis Service) up to €2,000/£2,000; Second Place: one credit towards a new single-order for GENEWIZ Gene Synthesis Service up to €1,500/£1,500; and Third Place: one credit towards a new single-order for GENEWIZ Gene Synthesis Service up to €1,000/£1,000.
b. Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Unlock the Genome Grant: One credit toward a new single-order for GENEWIZ whole genome sequencing or metagenomics sequencing services up to €5,000/£5,000. Applies to short-read sequencing services only.
c. Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Unlock the Cell Grant: One credit towards a new single-order for GENEWIZ single-cell sequencing with 10X genomics technology service up to €5,000/£5,000. Applies to short-read sequencing services only.
d. Sanger Sequencing Grant: First Place: one credit toward a new single-order for GENEWIZ Sanger Sequencing services up to €250/£250; and Second Place: one credit toward a new single-order for GENEWIZ Sanger Sequencing services up to €150/£150; and Third Place: one credit towards a new single-order for GENEWIZ Sanger Sequencing services up to €100/£100.
All Awards are not transferable and may not be redeemed for cash unless required by law. No substitutions except at Sponsor’s option. All Federal, state, and local taxes on awards, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Credits may only be applied toward new orders placed and confirmed by 31 December 2026, and if required, starting material must be received by 31 December 2026; such order using the Award cannot be combined with any discount, offer or promotion. Credit may not be applied to: EZ Services, Next Generation custom project, or Services where the samples are pathogenic.
8. PRIVACY, PUBLICITY AND MARKETING
a. Sponsors and its affiliates and service providers may collect, use, store, transfer, and otherwise process personal data submitted in connection with the Awards Program for purposes of administering the Awards Program, verifying eligibility, selecting and notifying winners, fulfilling prizes, maintaining records, complying with legal obligations, and protecting Sponsors’ rights and the integrity of the Awards Program.
b. Personal data will be processed in accordance with Sponsors’ Privacy Policy: https://www.genewiz.com/en/Public/Company/Policies/Privacy-Policy. Entrants may have rights under applicable data-protection laws, including rights to access, correct, delete, object to, restrict, or request portability of personal data, subject to applicable limitations.
c. Participation in the Awards Program is not conditioned on consenting to receive marketing communications. Any marketing consent must be optional, separate from entry into the Awards Program, and may be withdrawn at any time without affecting eligibility, except that Sponsor must still be able to contact potential winners for Awards Program administration.
d. Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of a prize constitutes the winner's consent to Sponsor's use of the winner's name, professional title, country of residence, institution or employer name, submission title, and statements relating to the Awards Program for publicity, promotional, educational, and marketing purposes relating to the Awards Program, without additional compensation.
9. SPONSOR’S RIGHTS AND DECISIONS
a. Sponsor reserves the right to verify eligibility, investigate potential violations of these Official Rules, and disqualify any entrant who violates these Official Rules or attempts to interfere with the administration of the Awards Program.
b. Sponsor may refuse to award a prize if doing so would violate applicable law, sanctions regulations, institutional policies, ethics rules, or other legal restrictions.
c. All judging decisions and eligibility determinations made by Sponsor and the judging panel are final and binding.
10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS AND ENTRY RIGHTS
a. Entrant retains ownership of the information supplied by Entrant on the Entry, subject to the rights granted in these Official Rules. By submitting an Entry, entrant grants Sponsor and its affiliates an exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, display, publish, distribute, edit, adapt, and create derivative works from the Entry solely for purposes of administering, judging, promoting, and publicizing the Contest and Sponsor’s related scientific and educational marketing activities, subject to applicable law and Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.
b. Entrant represents and warrants that the Entry is original to entrant or used with all required permissions; does not infringe or misappropriate any third-party right; does not contain confidential, proprietary, export-controlled, patient, clinical, sensitive personal, or restricted information; and may be submitted and used as contemplated by these Official Rules without violating any law, obligation, employer policy, institutional policy, grant condition, publication restriction, or contractual duty. Entrant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Sponsors from third-party claims arising from breach of these representations.
11. MISCELLANEOUS
a. Release of Liability. By participating in the Awards Program, each entrant agrees to release and hold harmless Sponsor, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives (collectively, the "Released Parties") from and against any, and all claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of or relating to: participation in the Awards Program; acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize; any acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize; any technical, administrative, or human error relating to the Awards Program; or any dispute regarding eligibility, judging, scoring, winner selection, or prize award, except to the extent resulting from the gross negligence or willful misconduct of a Released Party.
b. Limitation of Liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Released Parties shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to the Awards Program or any prize. Sponsor's aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Awards Program shall not exceed the value of the prize at issue.
c. Institutional Compliance. Sponsor shall have no responsibility for determining whether participation in the Awards Program or acceptance of any prize complies with an entrant's employer policies, institutional policies, ethics rules, procurement restrictions, grant conditions, or applicable laws. Entrants are solely responsible for obtaining any required approvals. Sponsor reserves the right to refuse or revoke a prize award where Sponsor reasonably determines that awarding the prize could violate such requirements.
d. Suspension, Modification, Cancellation or Termination. The Sponsor reserves the right to suspend, modify, cancel or terminate the Awards Program without advance notice, including, without limitation, in the event of any act, occurrence or reason that it believes would compromise the legality, integrity, administration or fairness of the Awards Program.
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend, cancel, or terminate the Awards Program, in whole or in part, if Sponsor determines that any event, circumstance, or occurrence impairs or is likely to impair the proper administration, security, fairness, integrity, or operation of the Awards Program, including, without limitation, fraud, misconduct, or unauthorized intervention; technical, software, hardware, network, website, platform, or communications failures; computer viruses, malware, cyberattacks, or other security incidents; errors in the administration of the Awards Program; force majeure events, including acts of God, natural disasters, severe weather, epidemic, pandemic, public health emergency, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, utility failures, or governmental actions; actual or potential violations of applicable laws, regulations, or regulatory guidance; or any other event beyond Sponsor's reasonable control. In the event of any such occurrence, Sponsor may take such action as Sponsor determines to be fair, reasonable, and appropriate under the circumstances, including extending deadlines, modifying Awards Program procedures, suspending the Awards Program, canceling the Awards Program, or selecting winners from among eligible entries received prior to the occurrence using the judging criteria set forth in these Official Rules. Sponsor's decisions regarding the administration, modification, suspension, cancellation, termination, and continuation of the Awards Program shall be final and binding.
e. Severability. If one or more provisions of these Official Rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall be valid and enforceable.
f. Governing Law. These Official Rules are governed and shall be construed by the laws of England and Wales for entrants located in the United Kingdom, and the laws of Germany for all others, without regard to conflict of law provisions thereof. Nothing in these Official Rules limits mandatory consumer protections or rights available under the laws of an entrant’s country of residence. To the fullest extent permitted by law, disputes must be resolved on an individual basis and not as part of a class, collective, representative, or consolidated action.
g. Winner List. Sponsors may publish or make available the first name, last initial, country, and/or institution/company of verified winners, subject to applicable law, Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, and any legally required consent or objection rights.
