
GENEWIZ University Awards Program ("Awards Program") Official Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER. SEE BELOW FOR FULL AWARDS PROGRAM DETAILS. PARTICIPATION IN THE AWARDS PROGRAM CONSTITUTES YOUR FULL AND UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE OF, AND AGREEMENT TO BE LEGALLY BOUND BY THESE AWARD PROGRAM RULES (“OFFICIAL RULE”).
A. AWARDS PROGRAM PERIOD
The Awards Program begins on February 5, 2026 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on March 31, 2026 at 5:59 p.m. ET (“Awards Program Period”). The time shall be determined by Sponsor’s timekeeping systems, and Sponsor shall have sole discretion in determining the timeliness of any actions or inactions related to the Awards Program.
B. ELIGIBILITY
1. The Awards Program is open to (i) legal residents of the United States, (ii) who have attained at least the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence (and, in any event, be at least 18 years of age), and (iii) are currently professionally engaged in laboratory-based scientific research at academia, government or not-for-profit entities.
2. The following are not eligible to participate in the Awards Program: (i) employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives and independent contractors of the Sponsors, its subsidiaries or affiliated companies, together with their immediate family members and members of the same households (whether related or not); (ii) researchers who won a 2024 or 2025 Award; (iii) residents of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, the Crimea region of Ukraine, Russia, or any country subject to U.S. embargo; (iv) any persons (including businesses, research institutions, government and private organizations, individuals, and other types of legal persons) on the U.S. government’s Denied Persons List, Specially Designated Nationals List, Entity List, Unverified List or any other similar list maintained by the U.S. government or any other government to whose laws the Sponsors, its subsidiaries or affiliated companies, the Awards Program or such person is subject, and all individuals employed thereby or otherwise associated therewith; and (v) any persons for whom it would be illegal to participate in or win the Awards Program, or with or to whom it would be illegal for the Sponsors to interact or grant the award as contemplated herein.
3. The Awards Program is subject to all applicable laws and regulations, and is void where prohibited or where registration, bonding or language translation is required.
C. HOW TO ENTER
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To participate in this Award Program, participants must complete the following during the Awards Program Period:
a. Visit web.genewiz.com/genewiz-university/grants (“Website”) and complete one entry form (the “Application”).
b. Each Application must designate the category of the Award they seek to enter and follow all posted instructions and provide all required information to submit your Application through the Website.
c. The Application must include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, phone, number, name of institution/company (“Institution”), and a brief description of the project you intend to use GENEWIZ Multiomics & Synthesis Solutions to complete.
2. Participants may only submit one Application per person during the Awards Program Period. You agree that, in the event that you submit more than one Application during the Awards Program Periods, all Applications shall be deemed ineligible.
3. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected Applications, or Applications not received regardless of cause. Natural person assigned the email account is deemed to be the participant. By entering and/or participating, the participant agrees to be bound by the Official Rules, the Sponsor’s Website Privacy Policy (https://www.genewiz.com/public/company/policies/privacy-policy). Applications become the property of the Sponsors. Sponsor shall retain full authority, in its sole discretion, to interpret and administer these Official Rules.
4. REQUIRED REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES. By entering, you represent and warrant with regard to your Application:
a. You have all required authorizations and permissions from the participant’s Institution.
b. Your entering the Awards Program does not and will not violate any applicable law or regulation, or any of the Institution’s or company’s rules or policies.
c. The information provided on the Application is true and correct in all material respects and is owned or rightfully possessed by you without restriction on disclosure.
d. Your Application complies with all of the Sponsor’s requirements and terms regarding the Awards Program.
3. You agree to be bound by all decisions and interpretations made in good faith by the Sponsor.
5. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to not consider any Application for the Awards Program if it believes the Application violates or potentially violates any of the foregoing requirements or otherwise fails to comply with any provision of the Official Rules. You agree to reimburse Sponsor in full for any losses, damages, and expense, including reasonable attorney fees that Sponsor may incur from the breach of a representation or warranty made by you or the use of any rights granted by you to Sponsor hereunder.
6. If Sponsor deems that a participant has submitted multiple Applications, or has otherwise acted in bad faith with respect to the Awards Program, the participant shall be disqualified from participation in the Awards.
SELECTION OF WINNERS
1. The Awards Program is divided into five (5) categories: Gene Synthesis, NGS, PacBio Kinnex SMRT, Sanger Sequencing, and New Wizard (each a “Category”).
2. For each Category, a judging panel consisting of the Sponsors’ scientists (“Judging Panel”), will review the eligible Applications received for that Category, and, in their sole discretion, will select the top three (3) Applications. Unless otherwise stated by the Sponsor, the Judging Panel will judge the Applications based on the following criteria, weighted as follows: Feasibility of project (40%), Scientific merit (30%), and Originality (30%). The decision of the Judging Panel will be final and binding. The selected winners are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules.
The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
WINNER NOTIFICATION
Each potential winner will notified by email within approximately five (5) business days after the end of the judging period. Potential winner must respond to the notification email within three (3) business days of the notification and provide Sponsor with all requested information within forty-eight (48) hours of the request Sponsor may require winners to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release/Publicity Release and other applicable documents. Winner may be required to show a valid photo identification, valid driver’s license, or other acceptable government-issued identification to verify identity and redeem award. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to timely provide requested document, or is disqualified, Sponsor reserves the right to select an alternate winner, as applicable.
AWARD DESCRIPTION
1. Upon verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules, the following awards will be awarded to the winners:
a. Gene Synthesis Grant: one award consists of a $5,000 credit, one award consists of a $3,000 credit, and one award consisting of a $2,000 credit toward a single order using GENEWIZ Gene Synthesis service.
b. Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Grant: one single-order award consists of a $5,000 credit; one award consists of a $3,000 credit, and one award consisting of a $2,000 credit toward a preferred sequencing path to expand your genomic snapshot and gain in-depth insights with our comprehensive sequencing solutions.
c. PacBio Kinnex SMRT Grant: one award consists of a $10,000 credit; one award consists of a $3,000 credit, and one award consisting of a $2,000 credit toward a single order using PacBio Kinnex mRNA sequencing.
d. Sanger Sequencing Grant: one award consists of a $500 credit, one award consists of a $300 credit, and one award consisting of a $200 credit toward a single order using GENEWIZ Sanger Sequencing services.
e. New Wizard Grant: one award consists of a $5,000 credit; one award consists of a$3,000 credit, and one award consisting of a $2,000 credit toward a single order using GENEWIZ Multiomics & Synthesis Solutions service for a new-to-GENEWIZ applicant.
2. All awards are awarded “AS IS”. Awards must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable or convertible to cash. No substitutions except at Sponsor’s option. All awarded amounts must be used in their entirety at time of order. Any unused credit will be forfeited and cannot be transferred to another project. Federal, state, and local taxes on awards, if any, and any other costs, fees and expenses not listed above as specifically included as part of the award are the sole responsibility of winner.
RESTRICTIONS APPLY
Orders using the credit must be confirmed by June 30, 2026. If starting material is to be provided, it must be received by June 30, 2026 and meet our sample submission guidelines as indicated in the quote or as outlined on: https://www.genewiz.com/public/resources/sample-submission-guidelines. The credit cannot be combined with other discounts, offers, or promotions. The Sponsors may rescind the award or modify any terms if the winner attempts to redeem the credit on an order which varies significantly from the proposed project in the application or if the list price of the order is less than the award. For next generation sequencing (NGS) projects, the preferred service package, where appropriate, may be used for calculating the list price of the project. Awarded grant funds for NGS cannot be applied to the following services: next generation sequencing only, next generation EZ services, next generation custom projects, or next generation projects already confirmed as determined by project management consultation. GENEWIZ synthesis solutions funded grants can only be applied towards recombinant antibody production, AAV Packaging, Lentivirus packaging, custom mRNA synthesis or gene synthesis services. The award may not be transferred or assigned; no substitutions or cash equivalents are allowed. The winner may be required to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility/release of liability/publicity release (where legal) within twenty-one (21) days of notification attempt. If the winner fails to return the affidavit/release by the deadline, the award will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected, based on the criteria set forth above, at the Sponsors’ discretion. The participant understands and agrees that no ideas, information or materials that are submitted to or otherwise provided to the Sponsors in connection with the Awards Program will be returned, and that the Sponsors make no guarantee or warranty with respect to the security or confidentiality thereof. All taxes on the award and reporting thereof, and any other costs, fees and expenses relating to the award or the Awards Program, are the sole responsibility of the winner and/or the winner’s institution or company. By submitting an application or accepting the award, the participant agrees on behalf of the participant and the participant’s institution or company: (1) to be bound by these Official Rules; (2) that the The Sponsors may refuse to grant the award if the Sponsors determine in their sole discretion that doing so would likely result in a violation of an applicable law, rule, or policy. Awards winner samples should not be pathogenic.
PUBLICITY AND MARKETING
By submitting an Application, you grant Sponsor the worldwide, irrevocable, fully sub-licenseable and transferable right, but not obligation, to use the participant’s name, biographical information, likeness, the name of the participant’s Institution, the project title (excluding further project details) and any other indicia or imitation of identity or likeness listed, provided, referenced, or otherwise contained in the Application, without further notice or compensation, unless prohibit by law, for the purposes of advertising and trade, in any format, medium, or technology now known or later developed, including, but not limited to, By submitting your Application, you (i) permit Sponsor to contact you regarding the Sponsors’ products and services, subject to the terms of Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.
INDEMNITY, DISCLAIMER, & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
By participating in the Awards Program, the participant agrees on behalf of the participant and the participant’s institution or company to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Sponsor and its respective affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives from all liability for any injury, loss or damage, including death or property damage, due in whole or part, directly or indirectly, to the participation in the Awards Program or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the award. The Sponsor disclaims any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, with respect to the award, including, without limitation, to such award’s quality or fitness for a particular purpose. THE SPONSORIS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST, LATE, STOLEN, INCOMPLETE, ILLEGIBLE, INACCURATE, UNDELIVERED, DELAYED OR MISDIRECTED ENTRIES, OR FOR ANY COMPUTER, INTERNET, EMAIL, TELEPHONE OR TECHNICAL MALFUNCTIONS ORDELAYS, OR FOR ANY HUMAN ERRORS THAT OCCUR IN THE PROCESSING, TRANSMISSION ORRECEIPT OF ENTRIES, OR FOR INACCURATE TRANSCRIPTION OF ENTRY INFORMATION, OR IF THE AWARDS PROGRAM IS NOT CAPABLE OF BEING CONDUCTED AS PLANNED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO INFECTION BY COMPUTER VIRUSES, BUGS, TAMPERING, UNAUTHORIZED INTERVENTION, FRAUD, TECHNICAL FAILURES, OR OTHER CAUSES BEYOND THE CONTROL OF THE SPONSORS. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE SPONSOR OR ITS RESPECTIVE AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS OR REPRESENTATIVES BELIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES WHATSOEVER ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH PARTICIPATION IN THE AWARDS PROGRAM OR THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE OR MISUSE OF THE AWARD, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT ANY OF THEM ARE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THE FOREGOING LIMITATION OF LIABILITY SHALL APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. THE SPONSOR’S TOTAL AND CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE AWARDS PROGRAM SHALL IN NO EVENT EXCEED THE TOTAL VALUE OF THE AWARD.
MISCELLANEOUS
The Sponsor reserves the right to suspend, modify, cancel or terminate the Awards Program without advance notice, including, without limitation, in the event of any act, occurrence or reason that it believes would compromise the legality, integrity, administration or fairness of the Awards Program. If one or more provisions of these Official Rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall be valid and enforceable. These Official Rules are governed by and shall be construed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without application of its choice of law principles. Should there be a conflict between the laws of the State of New Jersey and any other laws, the conflict will be resolved in favor of the laws of the State of New Jersey. Any dispute that may arise hereunder shall be brought solely in the appropriate state or federal courts sitting in Middlesex County, New Jersey, USA and participant consents to the personal jurisdiction and venue thereof. The failure of the Sponsor to comply with any provision of these Official Rules due to civil unrest, threat of or actual acts of terrorism or war, embargoes, governmental actions, acts of God, earthquakes, floods, storms, fires, supplier delay, accidents, explosions, epidemics, quarantine restrictions, or other such contingencies beyond the control of the Sponsor, shall not be considered a breach of these rules.
